http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Iturbe is close to making his return for the Portuguese giants. The Sky Blue International has been on the sidelines for the past few months but is expected to make his reappearance shortly.
The 18-year-old injured himself during his debut against Pero Pinheiro and has not featured for the Dragons ever since. Despite being on the sidelines, he has recently resumed training and is expected to make his return to the line-up in the near future.
It is thought that the player will be fully fit for game time by the end of December, but given that he is recovering quite quickly he could be in contention for Porto’s visit to Beira Mar on the 11th of December.
With a potential to become one of the best players in the world, the Dragao will be hoping that the youngster returns to first team action sooner rather than later.
Sporting to top group with a win over FC Zurich
Domingos Paciência’s Sporting Lisbon have already secured their place in the knock-out stages of the UEFA Europa League but with a win over the Swiss side, they will be able to progress as group winners.
The Lions’ victory against Vaslui in October, virtually guaranteed them a spot in the next phase of the prestigious European competition but if they manage to claim all three points at Estadio Jose Alvalade, they should end up topping Group D.
Sporting have been in good form in Europe recently and the only minor blip in their campaign has been the defeat by Vaslui, that too away from home. The Lisbon outfit possesses the some of the best players in Liga Sagres and are looking to challenge to for
silverware on all fronts.
While their quest on the domestic front has been dented with the loss against Benfica, they maintain a good record in the UEFA Europa League and will be looking to secure nothing other than maximum points when they host FC Zurich.
However, the visitors will be a tough team to counter and it remains to be seen whether Domingos Paciência and his side emerge victorious against them.
