Juan Manuel Marquez: I am in great shape to become world champion for the 4th time – Boxing News
Juan Manuel Marquez, the former WBO lightweight, super featherweight, and featherweight champion, has said that he is ready to nail Serhiy Fedchenko in order to become the owner of the WBO light welterweight gold and achieve the feat of becoming the four-time
world champion.
The duo is scheduled to meet in the ring stretched at New Mexico City Arena situated in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico on April 14, 2012. The event is being jointly promoted by Fernando Beltran of Promociones Zanfer and Bob Arum of Top Rank.
The Saturday night show will be televised live on HBO and Juan will brawl in his home town for the very first time in last 18 years. Juan, 38, is considered as one of the best pound-for-pound brawlers and proudly resides at the number one position in the
division.
The veteran pugilist has been in a total 60 bouts and emerged victorious in 53. He has nailed 39 of his opponents via knockout and boasts a long list of titles in his gear. Juan, well known as the ‘Dinamita’, recently took on Manny Pacquiao and collected
a very close unanimous loss decision.
Juan has a clear upper hand in various facets. The Mexican proud is heavily experienced as compared to Fedchenko. Moreover, his knockout wins are more than the total brawls fought by the Ukrainian.
In addition, Juan possesses the height and the home town advantage therefore after going through all the basic parameters, Manuel is the clear winner of the bout and he will do so most probably via knockout.
Fedchenko, 31, though is number one in his country yet resides at the 24th position in the world rankings. The Ukrainian, also known as ‘The Professor’, is a charismatic and talented pugilist but stands no chance at all in front of the master pounder Juan.
In simple words, the bout is a huge test for Serhiy and a win over Juan will boost his career and worth manifold. Juan recently concluded his training session at the Romanza Gym under the supervision of Nacho Beristain.
After the end of the last training day, Juan, while sharing his thoughts about the encounter calmly said, “I feel very good for this fight. We worked hard as always and hope to make a good performance to be crowned world champion for the fourth time and
join the greatest names of boxing history. It will be a very nice night with my fans in my homeland.”
Juan is in a great spot in all perspectives whereas Fedchenko has no other choice but to come up with a genuine, unique, and clever plan so as to outwit the Dinamita otherwise he will definitely be annihilated.
