Juan Manuel Marquez believes Manny will beat Timothy Bradley – Boxing News
Juan Manuel Marquez, Mexican pugilist who has faced Manny Pacquiao thrice in the ring, believes Pacquiao has all the capabilities to beat Timothy Bradley. In his recent interview, Marquez iterated that Bradley is a tough boxer but Manny Pacquiao will easily
beat him in the ring.
When asked about what he thinks regarding the matchup on both the fighters for June 9, Marquez said, “Tim Bradley will be a tough fight for Pacquiao. I think it is a tough fight for the two fighters. It is a tough fight for Pacquiao, because Bradley is...
quick, he is intelligent. Manny is the better fighter. Bradley is very physical, but Manny will win.”
Marquez was then asked about his rematch against Pacquiao, which would be the fourth encounter. Marquez said, “I like a rematch. I want a rematch, and the people want the rematch. If Manny wants to to fight with me again, I need another southpaw with Pacquiao's
style. I need a southpaw.”
Marquez added that Bradley does not have enough punching power to take Pacquiao down, therefore he will not be able to stand against him.
Not just Marquez, a number of other fighters and analysts think that Bradley’s fighting style is not good enough to take on the best fighters in the industry. Some analysts and trainers even think that Bradley uses offensive techniques to prove his dominance,
such as using his elbows and head too much.
Earlier this month, when Pacquiao was asked about his strategy regarding Bradley’s head butts, the Filipino said he would counter any such techniques with his ferocious fist power.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has promised fans that Pacquiao will knock out Bradley. Whenever Roach was asked regarding his prediction for the fight, he said Pacquiao would knock Bradley out. Even Pacquiao is confident that he
will take the unbeaten down with his fist power and not with points.
Both the pugilists will meet in the ring on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao will defend his title while Bradley will defend his unbeaten streak.
