Juan Manuel Marquez claims Manny Pacquiao is not the same fighter he fought before – Boxing news
The three-division world champion and the current World Boxing Association, World Boxing Organisation and the Ring Magazine’s Lightweight World Champion, Juan Manuel Marquez, reckons the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, also known as Pac-Man,
is not he the same fighter anymore, as Marquez believes Pacquiao is now equally good with both of his hands.
The highly-anticipated showdown between the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, and the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao, will take place on November 12, 2011 at the
MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marquez thinks this time he will fight an even better Pacquiao.
Marquez told the media Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), which includes 38 knockout wins, is a two-handed fighter now. Moreover, Marquez also claimed Pacquiao’s speed has improved.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Manny is not the same fighter I fought before. He is now a two-handed fighter. No longer left hand-crazy, Manny’s right hand is as dangerous as his left and I think his speed is better too.”
However, the 38-year-old Marquez, who holds a record of winning 53 of his 59 professional fights (1 Draw), with 39 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, stated he is happy to fight Pacquiao for the third time, as he wants to win for his fans.
Marquez remarked, “I was not angry that I had to wait for this third fight because I always stayed busy, but I am very happy to have this fight now. I am fighting hard for my country and my fans.”
The Pacquiao-Marquez first fight ended up in a controversial draw before Pacquiao appeared on top in their second bout via a split points’ decision.
Therefore, this third fight between the two boxing’s best has all the hallmarks of being an absolute classic and all that is left to see is whether Marquez will be able to avenge his defeat or not.
