Juan Manuel Marquez says he wants to give another great fight to the fans – Boxing news
The Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez, who is the current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and the Ring Lightweight World Champion, has claimed he will put on a great show for the audience once again.
Marquez meets the Pac-Man, Manny Pacquiao on November 12, 2011 in their highly anticipated bout at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
“I want this fight. All the Mexican people want this fight,” insisted Marquez.” I know this fight is a tough fight for me, but now I am training very hard. I train very hard for my speed. I train very hard for my strength. I train very hard for everything.
I want to give another great fight to the people.”
This is the third time both warriors will be facing each other in the ring, as Marquez met the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, for the first time back in May 2004. That fight ended in a highly controversial draw.
Their second meeting which came after four years on March 15, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Ring and WBC World Super Featherweight titles, also ended in a controversy.
It went on for all 12 rounds but in the end, it was Pacquiao who appeared on top on two scorecards and won the bout via split decision. Therefore, Marquez has been desperate for the last three years to fight Pacquiao once again.
”I want to dedicate this fight for all the Mexican people, for all my family and especially I want to dedicate to my father in law, because he died two months ago and this fight is for his memory,” said Marquez.
Pacquiao, who holds a record of winning 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
However, let’s see if Marquez wins the fight and proves himself as a better boxer.
