Juan Manuel Marquez to witness Pacquiao vs. Bradley live – Boxing News
In astonishing turn of events, Juan Manuel Marquez has decided to be at the ringside when Filipino WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao defends his title against Timothy Bradley tomorrow, June 9, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Marquez’s presence at the
ringside will add pressure to Manny Pacquiao, who is already prepared to face a hostile crowd.
The current WBO interim super lightweight world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has been a long time rival of Manny Pacquiao. He has fought three fights against Pacquiao and has won none. The first fight between the two ended in a tie, whereas the next two
were won by Pacquiao. Marquez is currently in Las Vegas and according to him, he wants to meet Bob Arum and Fernando Beltran, promoters, to pursue another match against Pacquiao.
Earlier this year, Marquez announced that he wants to have a fourth match with Manny Pacquiao, but Pacquiao’s camp paid no heed to his request. The Mexican three-division world champion has been restless since then, calling out Manny Pacquiao through several
platforms.
Marquez’s presence at the ringside will definitely heat up things even more. Timothy Bradley is already on the go and he wants to give fans an exciting show by nailing Pacquiao. At the press conference yesterday, the unbeaten American fighter stated, “It's
all or nothing. No rounds off. Round by round, I have to win each one. I came from the lumberjack yards, fighting in little ballrooms. Now we're in Las Vegas ... and we're going to be fighting in front of thousands of people. It's been a long journey, but
I knew at some point I would get here. I don't look pretty, I don't look spectacular. I don't have that spark. I don't do that one thing where everyone says 'Wow'. I know I'm going to have to do it in this fight. You could see some greatness on Saturday.”
On the other hand, Pacquiao believes that this fight is his opportunity to prove his mettle to the world. Pacquiao wants to end this match with a knockout win so that everyone knows that he still has his capabilities intact.
