Juan Manuel Marquez training to prepare for bout against Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
The Mexican professional boxer, Juan Manuel Marquez Mendez has now started his training session to prepare for the biggest fight of his life against the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Manny Pacquiao.
The number four pound-for-pound boxer in the world believes that his fight against Likar Ramos of Colombia is part of his preparations to compete with the Pacman.
The three division world champion, Marquez is scheduled to take on eight division world champion Pacquiao in their 12-round competitive bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The two champions will be face to face for the WBO
Welterweight title.
The current WBA, WBO and The Ring Lightweight World Champion Marquez said, “I’ve already started training. I need to stay active because I’m expecting a hard fight against Pacquiao.”
Marquez believes that his tune-up bout which is going to take place on July 16, 2011 will play an effective role to make him one hundred percent fit and active for his competition against the Filipino pride Manny Pacquiao in Nevada.
The Colombian boxer, Ramos has been chosen by the Marquez as his tune-up fight opponent because he is a southpaw stance boxer just like Pacquiao. It would be very helpful for Marquez to cope up with Ramos before going for his toughest fight to date against
Pacquiao.
Marquez said, “I’ll only get 15 days rest after the Ramos fight, then train again for Pacquiao.”
Marquez disclosed that Pacquiao has improved and learnt a lot from his past performances and just because of that reason, he needs to be fully prepared before going against him.
Adding to this Marquez said, “He’s added new techniques in his fighting style. I need to really train hard for my fight against Manny.”
The Mexican champion has promised boxing fans to give them the real fight and that he will not fight the way Shane ‘Sugar’ Mosley went into the ring against Pacquiao.
Marquez said, “Like a true Mexican warrior, I’ll match Pacquiao punch-by-punch to get the victory.”
