ATP World Tour Finals and six contenders have already booked their berths.
With merely spots left in the tournament draw, the race between three players has gone ever-intense and they are eyeing for a title victory to be a part of the privileged tournament. Currently holding the seventh spot in the Race
to London list, Argentinean number one, Juan Martin Del Potro, is quite certain to reach the ATP World Tour Finals. He has been in a fine form this season and is still going very strong to sustain his current position.
The former US Open champion lies ahead of the French powerhouse, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who clinches the eighth spot in the list at the moment. Del Potro has bagged 3,740 ranking points, whilst Tsonga is right behind him with 3,310,
posing a huge threat to surpass the Argentine contender. This nominal of almost 300 ranking points can easily be bridged with a title match appearance by Tsonga and he will have a perfect opportunity next week at his home.
Tsonga will have a full-crowd support on his back and favourable home conditions while playing the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament next week in Paris. The Frenchman was the finalist at Paris Masters, as well as the ATP World Tour
Finals tournament last season and he certainly eyes to replicate the similar sort of performances this time round. However, Tsonga will eye to pocket these two titles which just slipped out of his fingers in 2011, both at the hands of the Swiss Maestro, Roger
Federer.
The third candidate still alive in the Race to London is the Serbian number two, Janko Tipsarevic. He comes at number nine in the list, with 2,810 ranking points and posses an equal threat to both Del Potro and Tsonga. The crafty
Serbian managed to play the 2011 World Tour Finals after Murray pulled out due to injury but he wants a proper entry in the coveted event this season.
