The 23-year-old Argentine ace was sidelined from the professional tennis circuit towards the end of 2010 season, falling to the 258th rank. Del Potro revered from the career-threatening wrist injury and chronic shoulder
injuries to make his comeback to the tennis courts at the start of the 2011 ATP season. He made his first impact on the ATP World Tour by winning the Delray Beach International title in February.
Del Potro’s rankings kept swelling with his amazing performances in Indian Wells Masters, Miami Masters and then winning his second championship title of the season in Estoril. He couldn’t perform up to his standards in the Grand
Slam campaigns of the French Open and Wimbledon Championships but managed to sneak in the Top-20. Such astonishing comeback from an injury layoff was appraised by all the tennis lovers and Del Potro kept his winning ways to surge towards his dream of becoming
the world number one player among men.

Del Potro lifted his first title of the year in Marseille, defeating Michael Llodra of France on his home ground. His semi-final appearance at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships propelled him to the world number nine rank
but could merely stay there for a couple of weeks before falling to the 11th spot. His most recent performance in the Miami Masters event lasted until the fourth round and eventually yielded him enough points to make his way back into the Top-10
among the ATP World Rankings.
