Former US Open Champion, Juan Martin del Potro, is a fantastic tennis athlete but his off-court gestures are taking a toll on the Argentine superstar. He is recently being linked with a possible phone s*x tape that involves him
and his compatriot Johanna Villafane who is a model. The audio tape that has been unleashed to the world by the model contains the ‘spicy’ talk between the two parties according to the claim put forth by the model. However, the 24-year-old Argentine has denied
all the rumours and stated he doesn’t know the girl and probably it is a negative advertising strategy used by Villafane to gain worldwide fame.
The Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, visited Argentina to play an exhibition match against the seventh ranked del Potro. The tape reveals that soon after the encounter, del Potro planned a meeting with the model. However, it is just
rumoured news that has not been authenticated by any authority except the model. It might be a fake tape created for several purposes. The girlfriend of Del Potro, Stephanie Demmer, is very saddened by the reports circulating about the two parties involved
in the ‘spicy phone talk’.
The attitude of del Potro on the court is that of an absolute humble and clean guy. He doesn’t seem to be obsessed with things around him and just concentrates on the game; tries to prove his worth no matter how strong is the competitor
in front of him. Most probably, the tape is altered with the voice of del Potro; however, nothing can be said precisely at the moment because the final verdict from the talented Argentine is due.
The Argentine who is on the rise at the moment has re-entered the elite Top-10 category with marvellous performance in 2012. He reached the final at ABN AMRO World Tennis Championship but lost to the 31-year-old Swiss, Federer.
However, the following tournament at Marseille ended the title drought for the Argentine. Del Potro won Estoril Open, Erste Bank Open as well as Swiss Indoors Basel to end the season with four titles.
However, the scandal might hurt his overall progress in 2013 which will be very saddening especially for the tennis fanatics from Argentina.
