Juan Martin del Potro likely to participate at the US Open, 2010

Juan Martin del Potro, the champion of the Grand Slam hard court tournament, United States Open is likely to recover soon and defend his crown at the Flushing Meadows.
In spite of the fact that he was out of the tennis scene since the month of January as a result of his right wrist wound that needed treatment, Del Potro was even then on the provisional list showcased on Thursday by the United States Tennis Association for the men's side at the season's final Grand Slam event. The United States Open will start from the 30th of next month.
The United States Tennis Association commented in a statement that, “ Del Potro is likely to come back to the major championship after skipping the French Open as well as the grass court Grand Slam tournament earlier this season".
Del Potro grabbed his very first major trophy by coming back to knock down five times United States Open tournament Roger Federer in a total of five sets back in the final match of last year at the  Flushing Meadows.
The professional tennis ace, Juan Martin Del Potro is a twenty one years old player from Argentina. The man has contested in just a single championship this season, falling down in round number four of the Australian Open tournament.
The Argentinean player’s right wrist has been an issue since the previous season; he withdrew in the round number two of the Shanghai Masters in the month of October as a result of pain in his wrist. Later, in the month of January, he hauled out of an exhibition championship only few days prior to the beginning of the Australian Open championship, damaging his wrist.
He had gone through a surgical operation in the month of May and is recently number seven in the ATP player’s rankings.
"Del Potro, the Argentinean player is working and likely he will return shortly," as written in an email by Ugo Colombini, his agent to the Associated Press.
All the top ninety eight tennis players are included in the list that was released yesterday, headed by the Spaniard tennis ace, Rafael Nadal as the number one contender who will be trying his level best to complete his Grand Slam deed by winning a United States Open title this year. He has already won a total of five French Open trophies, two grass court Grand Slam titles and a single Australian Open crown.
Rafa has triumphed in the last two Grand Slam tournaments, on the other hand, Federer's record winning streak of twenty three major semi final appearances in a row concluded with a quarter final defeats at the French Open tournament. The Swiss tennis master also faced an early exit at the quarterfinal stage of the grass court Grand Slam tournament this year.
Del Potro, Rafa as well as Federer who is a winner of the sixteen Grand Slam trophies, are included in the provisional field along with four other champions of Grand Slam competitions namely, the 2003 United States Open winner Andy Roddick, 2001 United States Open as well as 2002 grass court Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt, 2008 Australian Open victor Novak Djokovic as well as the 2003 French Open achiever Juan Carlos Ferrero.
The number one tennis player Rafael Nadal as well as the United States Open winner Juan Martin Del Potro will face each other in the upcoming Thailand Open, as told by the organizers yesterday.
Nadal, the defending grass court as well as French Open winner skipped the previous season’s Thailand Open due to his injury problems.
"This season with my fitness and health in good form, I am really hoping to exhibit a wonderful display of tennis for my Thai admirers," Nadal commented in a statement released by organizers of the September 24 to Oct. 3rd indoor championship at Bangkok's Impact Arena.
As far as, Del Potro who has been out of the scene for the past few months is concerned, has stated that, “I do not have high hopes of defending my crown at the US Open”.
Presently ranked world number seven, Del Potro viewed in a statement that he will play in the Thailand Open as his first championship since the Grand Slam tournament, Australian Open in the month of January.
