The Blues take on Liverpool for the third time this season in the English Premier League at Anfield on Tuesday night in the mid-week fixture. While they looked to have lost out on a fourth place finish after a loss to Newcastle United last week, however,
they seem to be right back in the race.
Newcastle United lost to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur drew with Aston Villa over the weekend, along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 being held to a stalemate earlier. The Blues now have hopes to climb up from sixth place and reclaim the fourth spot.
However, they will have to defeat Liverpool and win their remaining games to ensure a UEFA Champions League finish at the end of the season. If they fail to do so then the Blues will solely be relying on a Champions League win against Bayern to make sure
they have European football next season.
Mata revealed he was confident of his side’s ability to defeat Liverpool and qualify for the UEFA Champions League via the English Premier League. The youngster claimed his side had to win and said they were determined to play European football next season.
Mata said in an interview:
“We have to win and still believe in playing the Champions League next year.”
As for his contribution for the London side, Mata revealed he was confident he would go on to play a role until the end of the season. He denied that he was exhausted and would take it easy for the remainder of the season, despite it being his first season
in the English Premier League.
He revealed:
