Juan Pablo Montoya says “There is no turning back”
The NASCAR driver, Juan Pablo Montoya, dismissed all the rumours of his return to Formula One in near future. He clearly stated that he is happy with where he is and has no plans of re-entering the series.
Montoya joined the highest ranking racing series of the world at the start of 2001 with Williams Team. He drove with the team for four years and was able to finish two of these years at 3rd place in the drivers’ standings. Although his career
with the sport was a smooth one and he was able to get a seat in McLaren in 2005, yet he left the series in 2006 and is now reluctant to come back.
With a total of seven race wins and 13 pole positions in his brief career, the driver was able to make his mark in the sport and also had a huge fan following. However, even after racing at NASCAR for four years, for Target-sponsored Chip Ganassi, he believes
that he is happier there and does not wish to return now.
While talking to the media earlier today he explained that he drives because he enjoys doing so and now he is happy where he is. He clearly stated this time and again that many people insist him to go back to Formula One, for its immense repute, but the
35-year-old, said that he is clear that there is no chance of going the other way, at least in the near future.
This year Montoya has not been successful in finishing among the top 12 Sprint Cup contenders. Through this system the series champion, known as The Chase is decided; however he says that he is not sad and is surely going to come back next year stronger
than now.
He explained saying, "At this moment I am happy, my sponsor is happy and Chip Ganassi is happy and that's all I care about. I saw the (Abu Dhabi) finale this year and it's like it has been all the time -- one car is a second faster than another but he cannot
pass. They say the problem is the tracks but honestly F1 has always been the same."
When asked about the current Formula One champion, Sebastian Vettel, Montoya said that he believes that the title went to the deserving man.  He further stated that Vettel has got talent, and although, he made a few mistakes which made the battle tough for
him, he rightly deserved the title.
