Juan Pereyra claims Men’s 800m freestyle title: Day six – 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy
Day six of the 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy saw the impressive swim of Juan Pereyra in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on Sunday, September 4. The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 800m freestyle final.
In the corresponding splash, Pereyra took home the gold medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 8 minutes and 05.75 seconds. While speaking about his individual swim, Pereyra stated that he was really excited and pleased with his splash in the final
heat.
In the meantime, Lucas Kanieski captured silver title on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 8 minutes and 09.58 seconds. Marcos Oliveira snared the bronze medal on the podium by posting a stunning time of 8 minutes and 21.34 seconds. After the
splash, Oliveira stated that he was delighted with his swimming effort. He further added that he will keep on the succession of his good performances for futuristic events.
In the corresponding race, Serebranik Romao Caio earned fourth place honours with an impressive mark of 8 minutes and 24.31 seconds. Mattioli Laborne Raphael rounded out the top five in a time of 8 minutes and 27.75 seconds, whereas, Botega Pinto Marcus
settled sixth in a time of 8 minutes and 29.67 seconds.
Colonese Ribeiro Hugo Victor grabbed seventh place in a time of 8 minutes and 29.70 seconds, while Ponte Fernando wound up eighth in a time of 8 minutes and 30.29 seconds. Last, but not the least, Amorim Veras Joao earned ninth place honours with a time
of 8 minutes and 38.74 seconds.
Earlier, Cecilia Biagioli took home the Women’s 1500m freestyle title with a winning mark of 16 minutes and 46.68 seconds. Okimoto Poliana earned silver medal in a time of 17 minutes and 00.56 seconds, while Ana Da Cunha grabbed bronze in a time of 17 minutes
and 11.13 seconds.  
All the swimmers of the final meet took a huge round of applause from the crowd on account of their impressive swims, while the winners were awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
