Juan Pierre’s triple RBIs help Chicago White Sox defeat Colorado Rockies 6-4 – MLB Update
Chicago White Sox out-fielder, Juan Pierre had a notable day with the bat as he hit three RBIs and went 3-for-5 with an average of .262 in the White Sox 6-4 win against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, Colorado on June 30.
With this credible win, the White Sox snatched a three-game series 2-1 after a long span.
The Rockies rallied in the very first inning and added three runs to take an initial 3-0 lead. Troy Tulowitzki struck a three-run homer (451 feet) towards centre-field while Jonathan Herrera and Todd Helton both singled to complete a three-run campaign for
the Rockies.
The White Sox rallied in the second inning and reduced their lead 3-1 when Alex Rios scored one run. Gordon Beckham moved to second base on the wild pitch of Aaron Cook. The batters were unable to put runs from the third to the fifth inning as they did not
make their mind to play the tricky balls.
Jake Peavy was a little bit shaky as he pitched six innings with an ERA of 4.47 and permitted four runs on seven hits with four earned runs. He struck-out four batters and gave away just two walks on his 106 pitches. Peavy said, “Troy, you've got to give
credit where credit is due. He fouled off some good pitches. He waited around and got a pitch he could do some damage with.”
In the sixth inning, Seth Smith posted one run to give the Rockies a 4-1 lead when Matt Pagnozzi singled to centre-field. Charlie Blackmon occupied third base at the end of sixth inning. On the other hand, the White Sox put one run during the seventh inning
to cut their deficit 4-2 when Beckham hit a solo homer (401 feet) to right-centre.
The game was tied 4-4 in the eighth inning when the White Sox batters posted two runs. Alexei Ramirez scored one run on the single-run shot of Beckham while A.J. Pierzynski added the second run as Pierre hit a sacrifice fly to left-field.
The game remained level until the ninth inning so an additional 10th inning was given to both sides and the White Sox went ahead 6-4 by contributing two runs. Pierzynski and Beckham both scored when Pierre singled to deep right-field.
