Levante UD defender, Juan Francisco García, has dismissed the suggestions that his side did not give their all in their encounter with La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Levante showed great character and resilience in the first-half of the match. However, after the interval things went horribly for them as Barca dominated the game and finally trashed them by 4-0.
The defender has blatantly refused to accept claims made by some, that his team did not try their best and simply took their eyes off the ball.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juanfran-c19849 believes that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that they should just leave his club alone for the moment. He contributed their heavy defeat to the fact that Barcelona were just too strong for them.
“Everyone can think what they want. But what is clear is that Barcelona do not give you the option to kick them, with their possession and pressing and two touches. People should leave us alone.”
The left-back shared his thoughts on the match and said that his team played well in the first-half. However, he admits everything went bad for them in the second period since the Granotes didn’t start with the same intensity they showed in the first 45
minutes of the match.
“In the first 45 minutes we were very good. In the second half we did not play with the same intensity and things went downhill very quickly.”
The 36-year-old has concluded his remarks on the fact that despite their 4-0 loss on last weekend, his team is doing well both domestically and in Europe. He believes his team is in a better position right now than last season.
“We have to focus on the next game, we cannot stop to think. This season Levante are doing better than last year. We have moved to the next round of the Europa League and in the League we have a good points tally.”
Levante are currently sitting in the 6th position in the table standings with 20 points. They are two points behind Malaga who are occupying the much coveted fourth spot for the Champions League.
