The Spaniard has heaped praise over the outgoing La Blaugrana manager and has expressed that his footballing philosophy was unique.
Former Almeria boss, Juanmo Lillo, has taken out time to admire http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s soon-to-be-former head coach, Pep Guardiola, and has stressed that his brand of football was superior to others.
Lillo paid tribute to the Catalan tactician and admired his ability to implement a distinct style of play. He went on singing Guardiola’s praises and emphasized that the way he managed things was simply remarkable.
In a press conference on Friday, Pep Guardiola announced that he will not be renewing his current contract with the Catalan giants and hence the end of the current season will mark the end of his reign at the Nou Camp.
The news has been received as a surprise all over the world of football and many have expressed mixed emotions at the prospect of Guardiola giving up his post at the Catalan capital.
Amidst all of the fervour regarding this latest development, Juanma Lillo has counted himself among those who have chosen to offer their respect to the talented tactician.
Guardiola took over the helm of affairs at Barcelona at the start of the 2008-2009 campaign. Although many predicted otherwise, the 41-year-old’s reign at the Nou Camp marked one of the most successful periods in the history of the club.
Under his management the current UEFA Champions League title holders brought the concept of ‘tiki-taka’ to use. The Catalan mentor’s tactics proved very instrumental for the Spanish giants and they achieved great heights during his time as manager.
While talking to reporters, Lillo was quoted as saying:
"He dared to play the game that others would not, and this has also helped the Spanish national team, Pep and Barca are one and the same. Everything he felt when he played he has transmitted as a coach and on top of that, tremendous levels of passion and
enthusiasm. He has thought a lot about things and has taken this decision because he thinks it is best for him.”
According to Barcelona, Pep Guardiola will be replaced by his assistant, Tito Vilanova, who will be the new manager of the Nou Camp outfit next season.
