Judd Trump admits he has to change his playing style in 2011-12 season: World Snooker News
Bristolian potter, Judd Trump has admitted that although he is ready for the upcoming snooker season, he will have to change his playing tactics in the 2011-12 snooker season. The youngster is at his home in Bristol enjoying his holidays and waiting for
the new season to commence.
Trump grabbed international fame after he clinched the Bank of Beijing China Open 2011 title, beating Mark Selby with the score line of 10-8. The left-hander has a tremendous playing style that reflects the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Jimmy White.
21-year-old Trump has a furious potting style like The Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan, which helps him sweep the table in minutes. He also hold’s the spinning sensation of the People’s Champion Jimmy White.
While speaking to the media, the young cueman said, “If I'm feeling confident then I will keep going for my shots. At Sheffield I felt good for the whole fortnight so I kept going for the long balls. But this season if I lose one or two first round games
then I might have to change the way I play.”
He added, “I've got to be more consistent and not give silly frames away, especially in the short matches. I'm in the top 16 now so I have to be prepared to battle though matches.”
Mr. Haircut 100, Trump has moved into the World’s Top 16 snooker players as he currently occupies number nine spot. According to the young Englishman, he feels no pressure no matter who he faces at the baize.
“I won't feel any more pressure because I'm excited about being in the top 16 and being able to go and play at all the big venues. There was more pressure in the qualifiers because everyone was trying so hard to get through them,” he added.
Trump’s dual-tactic playing style has made him a stronger opponent now as he has shown in the World Snooker Championship 2011. The young snooker sensation is now aiming for major titles in the upcoming season and surely has the spark to take the game of
snooker to new levels of excitement and thrill.
