Judd Trump all set for Ronnie O’Sullivan clash at 2012 Masters – Snooker news
Emerging young snooker star, Judd Trump displayed some terrific snooker genius against the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open winner Stuart Bingham and proved many critics right after winning the match 6-3 at the Alexandra Palace in Stock, Essex. His victory
against the Aussie Goldfields winner has dragged him into the quarter-final match against the Rocket, Ronnie O’Sullivan.
The Essex Exocet, O’Sullivan ousted China’s Ding Junhui 6-4 in his first round match at the Alexandra palace arena. The Wordsley potter cleared the table in first four rounds to click a 4-1 lead. Junhui came back strong and pulled level at 4-4 winning back-to-back
frames. After that, the Chinese was not able to score anymore and tumbled down by two frames.
Trump was impressive against Bingham and did not let him take advantage of any situation during the encounter. He capitalised on a strong start by clinching straight frames. At 2-3, Bingham was completely unsettled by the Ace. The 35-year-old Bingham failed
to spring back into the game and Trump swept the table in no time to claim the win.
The Bristolian must be looking forward to keep the pressure on O’Sullivan during the game because he knows all the strengths of the former three-time world snooker champion. He is all set for his upcoming quarter-final match.
Speaking to local media about his quarter-final encounter, Trump said, “It's always a special occasion when you play Ronnie in any tournament, especially because you never know how long he's got left in the game. You've got to enjoy every moment. You have
to play your best. The first time I ever played Ronnie I was a bit scared and I felt the pressure, but now he's just another player.”
The 22-year-old added, “Ronnie's been in the practice room, he's been putting the work in and he's really in the right frame of mind at the moment. I watched him the other day and he seems positive. I'm looking forward to Thursday now and just seeing what
Ronnie turns out.”
Both cuemen have gone head-to-head four times in the current season, where both grabbed two wins each. The quarter-final clash will definitely be worth watching as both cueists will be looking to put up a good fight and surge into the semi-finals.
