Judd Trump blames himself for defeat against Neil Robertson at 2012 Masters
After having a marvellous run during the 2012 Master snooker event, England’s Judd Trump lost his penultimate match against the 2010 World Snooker Championship winner, Australia’s Neil Robertson by the score line of 6-3. The Englishman was not able to produce any impressive shots during his semi-final match and tumbled three frames down in the end.
The Masters Snooker tournament has reached its final stage after featuring some of the best snooker matches ever. The semi-final encounter between Robertson and Trump was an outstanding display of brilliant snooker skills from both players. Robertson was outstanding at the baize as he put forward some excellent snooker genius to outclass his opponent.
Trump, on the other hand, seemed a little off track as he was unable to show his class in the match. Despite beating Robertson several times during the current season, Trump could not produce the same kind of form. The Bristolian was completely clueless after back-to-back blows from the Aussie and blamed himself at the end of the match.
Speaking to World Snooker in the post match interview, Trump said, “It was a little bit scrappy at the start. I think it just dragged me down a little bit. I had a chance in that last frame so I've only got myself to blame really. There was a massive blue at 3-1 which was the big turning point of the match.”
The 22-year-old added, “If I had played my best game I would have beaten him easily. So I've got myself to blame really. He has done what he can do with his talent. He has won a lot of tournaments, he's worked hard over the years so he's done well.”
The 29-year-old Robertson has set up a clash against Shaun Murphy in the final match of 2012 Masters snooker event. Murphy ousted John Higgins by the score line of 6-4 in the first semi-final on Saturday, January 21. The final clash of the event will be televised live from the arena on Sunday, January 22 and the encounter is expected to be another thriller, as both finalists have made it to the finals after beating tough opponents.
