Judd Trump drawing inspiration from brother against Ding Junhui: World Snooker Championship 2011
Judd Trump is drawing inspiration from younger brother Jack Trump after he pulled level with the Chinese Ding Junhui with a 12-12 after the third session of their semi-final clash of the World Snooker Championship 2011 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
The match has entered into a crunch situation as both players are not missing any chance to get a strong lead in the match and nudge each other down. The 21-year-old Trump trailed 7-9 before the end of the second session by stunning potting display from
Ding.
A terrific knock of 64 from the world number four Ding made it 10-7 and put a heavy stress on the youngster but Trump had his brother’s inspiration and support to make him strong. He fought back tremendously and sparked his cue brilliantly clinching five
consecutive frames with extraordinary breaks of 61, 71, 102 and 123 to edge 12-11 over the Chinese.
Every player in the championship is fighting with an inspiration. Higgins has his father’s memories with him, Ding has his nation’s support while Trump is getting the fighting power from his brother who suffered a brain haemorrhage five years ago but he
fought and survived.
“My brother was ill about five years ago,” said Trump. “It was really serious, he could have died. Touch wood he'll be fine now. It's been quite hard having moved away because I don't speak to him that much, so being with him these last couple of weeks has
been brilliant.”
He added, “He's been growing up, he's 18 now and he's growing up all the time. It's been hard missing him growing up, so him being down here with me has been massive. He came back to Romford with me for a few days earlier in the tournament to keep me company,
which was great.”
The Bristolian potter dug deep to come to this level of game during the season. His confidence received a boost after he clinched his first ranking title of China Open 2011 a couple of weeks ago at the Beijing University Student Gymnasium. He has already
crossed bigger hurdles like Neil Robertson and Graeme Dott and is really determined to grab the title.
Meanwhile, John Higgins trailed 7-9 behind Mark Williams after two sessions of the game. The third session will start on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
