Judd Trump feels strong for Ding Junhui in semi-final: 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship
The young cueist, Judd Trump holds a strong position now in the World Snooker Championship 2011 especially after he crushed Graeme Dott in the quarter-final clash on Wednesday, April 27.
He is ready for Ding Junhui clash in the upcoming semi-final on Thursday and believes he is quite strong to stop Ding’s progress.
The 21-year-old from England edged past the Scotsman, Graeme Dott, with a tremendous score-line of 13-5 in the best-of-twenty-five frames quarter-final match. The young snooker star has
been performing outstandingly and his snooker skills have proven second to none.
He travelled a long way after beating Neil Robertson, Martin Gould and Graeme Dott to face the Chinese Sensation in the semi-final. After his success in the event, he feels invincible
yet he is focused on his game as he knows the strength of the 24-year-old Ding.
"I feel invincible now and that's a good feeling to have," Trump said "Anyone left could beat me 13-3 or 13-4 as the standard is so good, but I could also do the same to the rest of the
players. I'm keeping focused and not getting carried away but I'm getting closer.”
The 2011 China Open champion, Trump, said that the reason behind his success in the mega event is the confidence he gained from 2011 China Open. He believes that without the victory he
had in China, he wouldn’t have played that well in the championship.
Meanwhile, Ding Junhui is also sharpening his cue to take on the Bristolian potter in his next clash at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on Thursday, April 28. Trump will definitely have
home crowed on his back to cheer him up which can be nerve-shaking situation for the Jiangsu potter, Ding, but he is confident about his performance and a 100 million fans he has in China.
He said, “I'm looking forward to playing Judd. He did well to win the China Open and get to the semis here. It will be hard for me and I need to play better safety. I have to stop his
potting. It's my first semi-final here and I don't know what the best-of-33 will be like. For now I feel strong and I'm more comfortable here. I know a lot of people in China are supporting me.”
Ad interim, John Higgins and Mark Williams will go head-to-head in the second semi-final of the 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship on the same day at the same event. the match
will surely be a thriller to watch as both super stars are at the peak of their form during the tournament.
