Judd Trump fights back in the third session – 2011 World Snooker Champion
The Bristolian Ace, Judd Trump, has fought back in the third session against Ding Junhui, as he levelled the score by 12-12 in the best-of-thirty-three frames semi-final match of the 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship. This event is being staged
at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
China's top cueist, Junhui, who ended his second session with a two-frame lead, has failed in the third session. However, the crowd favourite, Trump, who looked shaky in his previous session, produced high standards of game to win five of the eight frames.
The overall score-line between the players as of yet is 102-0 (102), 0-110 (110), 37-52, 38-89, 57-50, 13-81, 65-9, 0-74, 47-80, 72-19, 75-20, 67-56, 53-39, 71-34, 75-0, 0-77, 77-22, 0-83, 12-76, 1-106 (102), 0-123 (123) and 108-0.
The Chinese Sensation, Junhui, dominated the opening frame with a break of 64 to extend his lead by 10-7 before the twenty-one-year-old, Trump, bounced back into the game and won the following two frames to trail his opponent 10-9. He also showcased modest
breaks of 61 and 71 frames respectively.
He also was the first one to be among the balls in the next frame but this time he missed a tricky red in the centre pocket and was punished by his opponent.
The following two frames were over within a blink of an eye, as the Englishman, who was looking under pressure, knocked in mind-boggling back to back century breaks of 102 and 123 in both frames respectively.
It was a great performance from Trump and it looked as if now he will also win the last frame before the World Number four, Junhui, mopped up a classy break of 87 to level the scores at 12-12.
Trump received a huge round of applause from the crowd on showing his nerves and he was also shown apprciation by his opponent. Ding said, "I don't know if he's more popular than me, you'd have to ask him."
Both players will start off with their fourth and final session today. Both are battling to see who makes it to the final of snooker’s most prestigious event.
