Judd Trump hits second round after beating Dominic Dale in Round 1 of 2012 Wuxi Classic
Snooker lovers who came to watch the fireworks from their favourite potters witnessed some classy snooker display from the former World Snooker Championship runner-up, England’s Judd Trump. He displayed outstanding snooker skills to oust his opponent, Wales’
Dominic Dale in the opening round of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament at the Wuxi Sports Center in Wuxi, China.
Winner of the 2011 UK Championship had a psychological advantage over the Welshman because last time they faced each other in the 2012 World Snooker Championship where the Englishman Trump was victorious. However, even in this match, Dale seemed under immense
pressure and Trump took advantage of the situation to oust him by 5-1.
While speaking to World Snooker, Trump said, “At the World I wasn't feeling too well but today I was feeling perfect so I had no excuses today. I knew I had to go in there and perform. I've played Dominic a few times now and after some of the matches he
has said that he doesn't really rate me as much as the other top players.”
The 22-year-old added, “So I know, going into every game I play with him, how I can perform and today I think I showed him just how I can play.”
The opening frame of the match finished in Dale’s favour which was a troubling situation for Trump but he did not lose his focus and continued his game with determination. He sprang back brilliantly with some classy snooker breaks of 113, 108 and 75 to finish
the first session in his favour by the score line of 3-1.
The second session of the match was an easy win for the World Number two as he cruised into back-to-back set victories to make sure his booking in the second round of the tournament.
The 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament has produced some outstanding snooker clashes so far where a couple of rookies made huge upsets to qualify for the second round. The event just received the status of a major ranking snooker tournament which has made
it more attractive, interesting and thrilling to watch. Now many snooker lovers gather at the Wuxi Sports Center to watch and support their favourite players.
