Judd Trump ready for upcoming Players Tour Championship Event 1 and Australian Goldfields Open
Bristolian cueman, Judd Trump, is ready to spark his cue in the upcoming major tournaments of Players Tour Championship (PTC) Event 1 and the first ever ranking event on Australian soil, the Australian Goldfields Open 2011.
The left-hander has started practicing in his club at Romford and is aware that he will have to work really hard to retain his position in the top 16.
World number nine, Trump had a splendid last season with major breakthroughs in his professional career as he grabbed his first ever ranking title after clinching the Bank of Beijing China Open 2011. His next success was his terrific performance in the Betfred.com
World Snooker Championship 2011 where he reached the final but couldn’t make it past John Higgins, eventually losing to the latter 18-15.
However, the 21-year-old Bristolian is keen not only to sustain his good form but make more improvements in his game-play during the new season. Trump feels ready to compete in the upcoming PTCs and the Australian Goldfields Open.
While speaking to the local press, Trump said, “After Sheffield I took a few weeks off and spent time in Bristol seeing my friends and family. But now I'm back at the club in Romford and practising. I'll be treating the first PTC event as a warm up but I
will be ready for Australia.”
In reply to a question about the first ranking event in Australia, he stated, “It's the first event we've had in Australia so it will be new to everyone. If Neil Robertson hadn't won the World title last year we'd never have been going there. It's up to
us now to help make snooker more popular there and I'm looking forward to showing the fans what I can do.”
The new snooker season will commence on June 20 with the launch of PTC Event one at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, followed by the qualifiers of the Australian Goldfields Open 2011 at the same arena from June 27 to 30.
