Judd Trump says he does not fear playing anyone as he looks forward to win Masters Championship
England’s Judd Trump has proved his critics wrong after lifting the 2011 UK Championship title. The youngster played outstandingly throughout the second biggest snooker event of the calendar year. He ousted Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen by the score line
of 10-8 in the final at the York barbican Centre.
The Bristolian believes that he has improved his snooker skills a lot and is ready to take on any top player in the world. Mr. Haircut 100 is now looking forward to the upcoming Masters event, in January. He has clinched one of the Triple Crowns and is hoping
to achieve another milestone by winning the masters tournament.
Speaking to the local media after winning his first ever UK title, Trump said, “I've still got a lot of improving to do but this is a big confidence boost. I don't fear anyone. I'll have a brilliant Christmas and go into next year feeling positive. I can't
wait for the Masters, to see what the atmosphere is like at Ally Pally.”
Talking about the players, the Englishman added, “A few players have criticised me this week, but they knew my strengths and weaknesses and they still couldn't beat me. They say I'm all about potting and my positional play is no good, but I like to prove
them wrong. They played well against me and I still beat them quite easily.”
The 22-year-old Trump has been in good form from the very beginning of the 2011-12 snooker season. He showed excellent performances in Players Tour Championship (PTC) events and Premier League Snooker (PLS), winning two events from each series. The left
hander’s aim is to be one of the top players in the game.
Trump’s recognition as a professional top player emerged after he defeated World Number One, Mark Selby, by 10-8 in the final of 2011 China Open. After that performance, the young English cueman continued his impressive performance in the 2011 World Snooker
Championship at the Crucible Theatre. He reached the final clash against current world champion, John Higgins, but could not lift the title as he was nudged down 18-15 by the hands of Higgins.
