Judd Trump to take on Shaun Murphy in semi-final encounter of 2012 Six-Red World Championship
Quarter-final competitions of the 2012 Six-Red World Championship finished successfully at the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand featuring top four cuemen who will be up against each other in the penultimate stage of the tournament. So far, the
contest has produced outstanding matches at the baize where a many new faces emerged beating the veteran potters from around the world.
The former World Snooker Championship runner up and the winner of the 2011 UK Championship, England’s Judd Trump has set up the semi-final clash against the former World Snooker Championship winner Shaun Murphy. The match-up is definitely going to be the
closest game of the tournament because the pair is on song.
Trump showed great deal of snooker genius by beating the current World Number one and former Wuxi Classic event winner, England’s Mark Selby in the quarter-final clash by the score line of 7-5. The English potters went toe-to-toe in the opening sessions
of the game not giving any opportunity to each other to prevail. However, Selby failed to improvise accordingly and tumbled down to the Ace by 7-5.
On the other hand, Murphy faced the Welshman Dominic Dale in the quarter-final game and beat him by 7-6. As expected, the quarter-final clash was one of the most tussling games of the 2012 Six-Red World Championship since both cueists played quite closely
until the finish of the match.
At one time, it seemed that Murphy will not let Dale come close to him but the Welshman proved his talent to the Englishman during his run and almost unsettled him. However, Murphy managed to clinch the decisive frame to ensure his reservation in the semi-final
encounter against Trump.
The Murphy-Trump clash is going to be a tussling game because the pair has played against each other before and know about each other’s capabilities.
The 2012 Six-Red World Championship is an invitational snooker tournament but still it has attracted snooker fans from around the world like any other major ranking snooker event. Even the potters who booked their place in the initial round were playing
at the baize with total determination. One of the arena tables was shown on television during the event proceedings.
