Question:

Judd trade questions, what can WCE get for him, at least 5 players? Less than 5 is not enough for his value?

How many draft picks can WCE ask for Judd? I would

want a number one for the next three years and the

number two for the next two years. Otherwise, no deal.

Would this be a legal trade in the AFL? It would be

legal if accepted here in America in baseball,

football, basketball or hockey.

Next, if WCE does not get what an acceptable offer

from a club, is Judd stuck with the WCE? WCE would not

delist him, I figure. Would he then have to stand out

for a year since WCE would not clear him? I know he can nominate for the draft, he would go number one over any of the 18 year olds. Fill me in on the options for WCE and for Judd.

In a trade, wouldn't one of the Vic teams basically have to give away their future to get him? I don't think he is worth that, being the Lone Ranger after all a team's previous stars went off to WCE to make them better?

  1. Basically west coast don't have a leg to stand on.  Because he is out of contract, he does not need a 'clearance'.  There are two options for what can take place, one is good for both parties, and one is bad for both.

    - If west coast decides they are not happy with what the other clubs have to offer they are going to have to accept it anyway.  He will leave no matter what.  If they don't trade him for something they like, then he will just nominate for the pre season draft (thats different from national draft).  This means he will probably go to the first pick which is richmond and west coast will get nothing.

    - If west coast choose to trade, basically Judd will pick which ever club he wants to go to (the best for him and the eagles as he believes he will help them out) and west coast will deal with them to organise a trade.  Basically the other club is in the box seat because if they offer them a little, west coast will take it, if they offer them nothing, west coast get nothing.

This is why clubs like carlton with high draft picks are in a good position, because they can just offer say pick 3 and a player.  There is no way anyone will give up the number 1 pick, and no way they will give up the number 1 pick for more than a year.

  2. mate basically it works like this, the Melbourne clubs will offer all they can afford and players they can afford to lose, then Chris Judd will choose which club he wants to go to,and if the Eagles aren't happy with any of the options they ARE PRESENTED WITH then Chris Judd will go in to the pre season draft (like Nick Stevens did) and be picked no.1 by Richmond who has the first pick.although I'm sure the eagles aren't that silly to let it get to that stage,so they'll definately get a decent trade probably 2 pick in the top ten of the national draft plus an established player (of some quality).

molly forget about what Chris said about looking after the eagles,he will be looking after no.1 and i doubt he'll want to see his future club give away all its talent to a his old club who will become his opposition.

  3. Well hawthorn could give west coast Mark Williams who is a great forward and has just recoverd from injuries and is ready to play again and plus we lives in WA so his right at home.

plus some draft picks along the way .

  4. The balls in his court but he has said he will go to the club that benefits the Eagle and he is a player with great integrity so it might be the Blues.

He has said he wont enter any drafts he is a commodity that can basically name his price and the Eagles wont hold him back.

For some reason though I think he will end up a Magpie and they have enough money to get him and he would make a great replacement captain for when Buckley goes.
