Judgement on how my test was graded?

I recently took this science test and well, I didn't do so well. However when I looked at the last question, I couldn't believe I got it wrong.

Heres a picture of the last page of my test, and make sure you read the question.

  1. forgot everything from school

  2. Haha.   Is this for real?  When I look at it, is that elephant even relevant to the problem?  It looks like a prank.

Anyway, its wrong because you didn't solve for x.

  3. Actually, yes you are wrong.

The statement of the problem states that the object slid down the ramp on a frictionless surface.  Therefore, the momentum was also transferred to the elephant, pushing it along into the spring also.  If the ramp was frictionless, the object would push the 2-legged miniture elephant into the spring and the elephant would come back and push the object back towards the ramp after hitting the spring.

  4. HAHA OMG I LOVE THE ELEPHANT!!

This is just an ad for the site, though, isn't it?

Admittedly, it is a cool site.

But this probably isn't the place to advertise it.

  5. This is hysterical!  I'm not a science person, but I can see that you didn't answer the question.  You didn't find X (how much the spring compressed) and you didn't tell whether the elephant would continue up the slope after it rammed into the spring.  Seems to me that with all that weight behind it, an elephant would hit that spring and go back up that ramp.  You did some equations, but didn't label anything or answer the questions the teacher asked.  Sorry.  Cute elephant, though.
