Judging Teen Moms.?

Why do people always have to look down on teen parents? I am 17 years old and my boyfriend is 16, despite our age we are great parents our daughter is our #1 priority ALL THE TIME i stay home and take care of her everyday and have never missed a single dr. appt., and my boyfriend works to support his family , I am not going to say we are the best because no one is perfect, but when i got pregnant we both completely cut of anything related to partying. My boyfriend got a job and I stayed in school as long as possible then got my GED and i am now taking online college classes. So why do people have to assume just because someone is young they cannot be a good parent. There are older mothers who kill their babies (not by abortion, but murder) so why assume so much about teen parents, im not saying anything bad about any age group because it depends on the person not the age...

I think how the whole teen mom scandel came to be was because they assumed most teens do not understand the responsibility, time, finances that a baby come

ITS NOT AN ASSUMPTION-  Teenagers brains are not fully developed and as a result many of their decision making skills are not in tact.  When your decision making capabilities are not fully formed  (aka frontal cortex) making correct decisions for your child are not always possible.  THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE AGAINST TEENAGE PARENTS-  Scientifically and developmentally, they are still children in their brain.  Children are not to be raising children.
