Judicial Bias Against Men

Question

Why does it seem like the US punishes most fathers in the judicial system for the failure of some not to handle their responsibilities? Is it more sociall acceptable to punish men for their failure to handle parental responsibilities than women? I know of a growing number of women who have abandoned their children or who use child support for themselves? My bf has sole custody of one son and is paying child support for another that he hasn't seen in 12 years as his mother lives between the US and Africa. Why is this acceptable?

Keep in mind that your viewpoint is biased.

The law has to make general policies regarding childrens' welfare.

In most cases, the children are better off with their mother.

Your bf may be the exception, but he's swimming upstream.
