Judith Arndt has perfect day for HTC-Highroad after taking Toscana Int.Femminile 2011
HTC Highroad Women's Judith Arndt showed a good performance and took the third stage of Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile 2011 on Thursday, September 15. The HTC-Highroad Team continues their dominance as Arndt retained her overall leader’s jersey.

The race started in Pontedera and ended in Volterra. The 35-year-old German professional cyclists took a total of 3 hours, 50 minutes and 12 seconds to cover the distance of 137.6 kilometres.
The German defending champion out-sprinted the Diadora-Pasta Zara rider Claudia Hausler with the same timing of Arndt. Megan Guarnier of United States of America finished third with a difference of 3 seconds.
HTC-Highroad’s sport director Ronny Lauke said, "Ina set a brutal pace on the last climb, and a lot of riders fell behind. The fifteen riders who hung on included Judith [Arndt], who took off in the last three kilometers to go and no one could catch her.
She won by a bike length. "
With 73 kilometres to go, the peloton stayed together while the two cyclists Charlotte Becker (HTC-Highroad) and Trixi Worrack (Germany) managed to get away. The peloton divided into two parts before the two Germans and the thirty cyclists were able to gain
a lead of 1 minute and 29 seconds. Worrack took the first mountain of the stage.
In the second climb, Claudia Hausler and Ashleigh Moolman worked hard together to gain a lead but Arndt came over the top of the climb ahead of the other riders. With 23 kilometres to go, the group got back together in the final climb while Teutenberg increased
her pace but failed as Arndt launched an attack to cross the final line first.
Arndt also took the overall standing with a timing of 6 hours, 52 minutes and 17 seconds while Megan Guarnier of USA was runner-up at 26 seconds down to Arndt.
Hausler finished third with the difference of 33 seconds ahead of Rasa Leleivyte and Sylwia Kapusta.
The 4a stage starts in Quarrata and will finish in Campi Bisenzio as all the riders will cover the distance of 67.3 kilometres.
