Judo for MMA?

Judo wants right foot forward..I am right handed, thus my fighting stance (orthodox) is left foot forward..should I train judo with my left foot forward so its similar to fighting stance?

i want what is most effective for mma / self defense.

  1. te judo is'nt much usefull in mma, the best is the brazilian ju-jistsu...


  2. You will learn to throw from both stances. All throws are performed in the clinch, changing stance in the clinch is relatively safe once you learn to perform a throw from both ways.

  3. You are only starting off with your right foot forward as a practice.  All you need to do is switch up during randori.

  4. I've never questioned this. Just train like they tell you to train. How the h**l are you going to find a Judo dojo that is going to allow you to go against so many centuries of precedence just because you're training for MMA? Simply switch stances once clinched -- shouldn't be that difficult. Easier than getting an instructor to teach you a brand of Judo that simply does not exist -- left foot forward.
