My hubby was supposed to mail in for me but he was cleaning out his car today and he had forgotten!!! My jury duty was scheduled for last week!! I gave this to him to send in about 2 months ago!! What should I do?!! Please help! Serious answers only please!!

  1. Call them and ask what you should do

  2. its simple. something like this happen to me in the past as well except i had no intention of sending it out. i was eventually called in to court because i did not arrive for jury duty. when i got to court i simply told the judge that i sent out a letter explaining why i could not attend. and left it at that. the judge dismissed the case and simply put me back on the call sheet. 3 weeks later i was called back into court. that time i called and stated why i wasn't going (made something up) and it all went good from there. i wouldn't worry to much about this though. i didn't get a warrent out for my arrest or anything i seriously doubt they will do it to you.

  3. Send it in now.  At worst, you'll get called, at best, it'll arrive and you'll be excused.  Chances are, they'll figure it got lost in the mail for a while, will see that you're way too distracted to make a good juror, or will send you another notice in about three months.

  4. First, don't panic.  For some reason I didn't get or didn't see a jury duty notice and missed my date.  I got a follow up advisory, and simply called the number and rescheduled my date.

Now that you know, call the court and explain what happened.  You may have to show up in person as you missed your scheduled date, but if you explain your circumstances they might just send a new date and a new form to fill out for being excused.  Just do it and you'll be fine.
