Jui Wei, Kuan Hao clear Men’s Doubles quarter-final round of 2012 Singapore International Series
Men’s Doubles experts Jui Wei Liang and Kuan Hao Liao raised Chinese Taipei’s flag in the round of eight of Li-Ning Singapore International Series and escorted their country to semi-finals on August 16, 2012.
They took 48 minutes to outclass Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira-Ade Yusuf with favourable result of 15-21, 21-17 and 21-15.
Though, they had to face a severe blow in very first match but they managed to stand full to their stature in ending two sets.
On the other hand, the Indonesian pair failed to make best out of their initial advantage and crashed out of this International Series.
The first set heated up when Wahyu Nayaka and Ade Yusuf bagged couple of valuable points without any interruption.
They maintained this rhythm in next couple of rallies and established his grip over the game before the announcement of break.
At half time, they were in dominating position with figure of 11 on points table but then some unforced errors in third quarter of the set weakened their grip.
Later, they reinstated their dominance with couple of productive rallies and bagged first set with 21-15 score on the board.
However, it proved their last success in this tournament as they could not rise on their toes in following games.
The twosome of Jui Wei and Kuan Hao showed transformed character in very next game and kept the contest alive.
They started making amends straight away in the beginning as few successive points helped them to come of their competitors’ influence.
They mounted pressure by registering an indomitable total of 11 before the one-minute break and then capitalised this psychological edge in later part of the game.
They did not allow the opposing team to catch them until last shot was played and finished this race with 21-17 margin.
The Taipei campaigners did not lose this touch even in third set of the match and served notice of their supremacy with a six-point lead in concluding total.
Jui Wei and Kuan Hao sealed a splendid victory by putting a decisive figure of 21-15 and qualified for the semi-finals where they will face Danny Bawa Chrisnanta-Chayut Triyachart of Singapore.
