  1. Did you wash the veges??  Root veges should be scrubbed with a root brush - a nail brush or similar stiff bristle brush will work as well.

I'd also suggest not mixing fruits and veges for this, just for taste purposes.

As you continue to juice you will find combos that please you.

I strongly suggest organics, try organic carrots next time, you won't beleive how carroty they taste...

  2. You need to peel the beet, it would help to roast it so the sweetness would come out. Next time add more fruit and use 1 carrot. Adding more fruit would mask the bitterness of the vegetables.

  3. Did you wash the dirt off the produce before you put them in the juicer? Just a thought.

I remember a man at work that would only drink coffee from a certain coffee maker. He said it made the best coffee ever. I looked at it one day and the inside was full of roaches. Apparently it was a roach trap. They could get in through the little slots where you pour the water but couldn't get out.

I wouldn't drink anything that taste like dirt. I would take the juicer apart to see if anything is inside it.

  4. Well, Im guessing it tastes like c**p because the different things you put in there didn't 'flow'

You should stick to fruits with fruits, and veggies with veggies.

Next time it should taste better.

  5. i think its partly because you didnt peal...also maybe you didnt clean it good enough on the outside?? i would definately try pealing next time, and possibly adding some sugar or splenda

  6. roots grow in... dirt!

  7. did you thoroughly wash your veggies/fruit?

Beets need to be cleaned extra well because they store a lot of dirt. I know the taste is disgusting, so I usually drink it fast holding my nose closed.

  8. Your last statement is the most important !   It is healthy.  I was once told If it tastes good spit it out....Because it wasn't good for you. There is some truth to that.

  9. Make sure to wash all your fruits and veggies VERY well. Also keep in mind that root veggies will always taste a little earthy. You might not want to sue so many of them.

    Good luck

  10. Try tomato, carrot, celery, beetroot, parsley, lettuce, watercress, spinach and some spices for a healthy veg juice. Grate the beetroot to get rid of the roughness.

I think with fruit smoothies use banana as a base as its thick. Good fruits to add are strawberries, kiwis, blueberry's etc. Try to use a broad mix of colours so you get all the various benefits..as different colour fruit/veg represent different types of vitamins and minerals.

    Hope this helps

  11. You need more sweet in there, maybe 1/2 banana or some kiwi. Your not suppose to have to peel stuff, but must wash it good!.

  12. Did you wash the beat? It's because beets grow in dirt. If you didn't, you could scrub the beet with one of those potato brushes/scrubs or if you don't have one, try an old toothbrush! You could try adding more sugar. Or, you could also try and add some sweet fruits such as strawberries, bananas, kiwis, blueberries...etc, because fruits over power the taste of vegetables, and taste better. Oh, by the way, I absolutely LOVE that juicing recipe.

  13. your probably not use to the taste, b/c juicers only have the fruit and thats it, but fruit drinks that you buy almost always have sugar it it!

  14. ?? I would like that!

    Very healthy!

Plug your nose and drink or add some honey or sugar.

  15. It probably is because of the beet peel. Did you peel the ginger root? I'm sure you did but if not, do so next time. Those root veggie peels can make anything taste like dirt.

  16. try adding sugar 2 make it sweet dirt.

  17. Sometimes a beet can throw off a glass of juice with a strong dirt flavor.  I don't think you have to peel it first, I think if you brush it hard with a strong brush (make sure you get in between the stems too) it will be better next time.  You could also add the juice of a lemon (peel the lemon and run it through the juicer or just squeeze the juice directly into the glass).  Lemon brightens up beet juice quite a bit.  A few stalks of celery helps too.

EDIT:  As far as these other answers you're getting go...DO NOT ADD SUGAR!  That kind of defeats the purpose of juicing, which I think you know already.  You do NOT have to peel the ginger, either.  But you might want to make sure no seeds from the apple (core is okay, just not seeds) go through the juicer.  Apple seeds contain cyanide and that may throw off the taste.

I like your juice recipe though.  That's one of my favorite juicing combinations!

  18. Yummy I have never tasted dirt

  19. it will always taste that nasty, beet peeled or not :)

  20. Beets taste like dirt, peeled or not.  Just leave out the beet next time.
