Jules Bianchi dreaming of a Ferrari drive – Formula 1 news
Jules Bianchi has claimed that he is currently enjoying his partnership with Marussia, but it will be dream come true, if he is given a chance to driver for Ferrari.
The 23-year-old driver has been involved with the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and is seen as the replacement for Felipe Massa, who has been unable to meet the expectations of his team over the past few years.
According to Bianchi, “All the experienced I gained with the FDA has been really important: not just in terms of the technical aspect, but also for all the rest, such as how to deal with the sponsors and the media. It was definitely a plus at a time when
I am getting to grips with the top level of the sport.”
Although the Marussia driver does not get much time to visit the Ferrari factory, he claimed that he still pays a visit when he gets time. He added, “I come here less often than in past years because, apart from the races, there are so many other things
which I have to do with my new team. I often go to the team’s factory to talk to the engineers and before each Grand Prix there are always sessions on the simulator.”
Other than Bianchi, there are a lot of other drivers, who are planning to take Massa’s seat. However, the Brazilian driver is not confirmed to leave the Italian squad yet and he has got plenty of races to prove his worth and get a new contract to race alongside
Fernando Alonso.
If he fails to deliver, Ferrari will definitely look at some other options. Since Bianchi has tested for them in the past, he will definitely be amongst the contenders to partner Alonso in 2014.
However, there are some other drivers like Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta, who have been doing a very good job with midfield teams over the past few years, so they could also be the lucky ones to get a contract with the Maranello based outfit.
Despite that, Bianchi seems hopeful of getting his dream contract, as he has been in contact with some important people in Ferrari, who rate him as a fine driver.
