Jules Bianchi says he is ready for an official seat in F1 – Formula 1 news
Jules Bianchi, who is currently the test driver for Force India and the runner up for the World Series by Renault, says that he is ready to race as an official driver in F1 from the next season.
Bianchi has been taking over the driving for the Force India team in the Friday practice sessions ahead of the races and thinks he is ready for an official seat after that.
“I learned a lot from this role and from driving in FP1,” Bianchi told the official Ferrari website. “Even if I'd driven before at the previous year's Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi and also at Jerez, it's not the same as driving during a race weekend, because
you are under a lot more pressure. I feel I have grown up a lot with this experience and I am now ready to be a race driver in Formula One. I hope I find an official seat for next year as this is definitely my dream.”
He had been speculated to take over from Ferrari’s Felipe Massa before his deal was finalised and is now being anticipated to replace Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg. He was loaned to Force India for completing a minimum of nine practice sessions in the current
season.
Like all drivers who have been speculating about the Circuit of the Americas, Bianchi also gave his review over it as the United States Grand Prix is all set to take place on the new track this weekend. He thinks that a driver needs to test all limits of
the track during the first practice session so as to not face difficulties in the qualifying round. He said that the simulator immensely helped in that matter.
He highlighted about the quick corners of the track and the fact that it was a combination of elements from other famous tracks. He said that the track also consisted of many slow corners. He’s learnt from practicing at the simulator that the new track is
one of the best so far which will provide plenty of chances at overtaking which in his opinion is difficult to do in F1.
