Jules Bianchi sets best time on second day of Young Driver Test – Formula 1 news
Force India test driver, Jules Bianchi has set the best time on the second day of the Young Driver Test held at Magny-Cours in France.
Bianchi topped the timesheets with his fastest time of 1 minute and 16.467 seconds. Furthermore, he remained 1.5 seconds quicker than his opening day’s time which he set with his run with Ferrari.
Moreover, he completed 117 laps and successfully gathered some essential information for his team about the updates in the car.
Additionally, it will be important to note that he is also taking part in the Renault World Series in which he is currently standing at third place and has surely got the potential to claim the title.
After delivering an impressive performance in the test, the French driver is targeting to secure a race seat in the Silverstone based team for the next season. Besides, his hopes are getting high as there have been many speculations that Paul di Resta of
Force India will move to McLaren as Lewis Hamilton may leave the Woking based team in the coming year.
Furthermore, Sam Bird of Mercedes came second in the charts and seemed busy in testing both the new and the old exhaust layouts of W03. Besides, he was contended with his second day run as he managed to gather the necessary information which the Brackley
based team needed for launching its major update in the Singapore Grand Prix next weekend.
"We've had a second very positive day at the test and successfully completed our planned schedule, including the evaluation of the performance items that we wanted to achieve," Bird said. "We're happy with the results that we've seen so far and there is
a lot of information to go through to hopefully help improve the car. It was a great experience to be back behind the wheel of a Formula One car this week, and to help with the development programme, and I would like to thank the team for giving me this opportunity."
Over and above, Davide Rigon who drove Ferrari came third in the timesheets with his quickest time of 1 minute and 17.925 seconds. In addition, he was the busiest man on track as he covered 165 laps.
