Jules Bianchi will run Force India’s VJM05 at Mugello test – Formula 1 news
Force India’s third driver Jules Bianchi will be running their car VJM05 at the in-season test which is to be held at Mugello circuit, next week.
Bianchi has only taken part in one of the free Friday practice sessions of 2012 Chinese Grand Prix in the season so far and covered only eight laps behind the wheel. Moreover, he has only been on track in one of the three pre-season tests, held at Jerez
circuit and went into the gravel after his rash driving.
Force India drivers, Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg will test run the car on Wednesday and Thursday while Bianchi will be testing on Tuesday.
It will be interesting to mention that Force India have been trying their best to make the essential developments and the significant preparations for the races ahead in order to improve the pace of their car.
Besides, they have planned to launch some major updates in the car for the European season for which they are aiming to make the substantial evaluations in the Mugello test. Additionally, they have been somewhat behind the contenders in the mid-field which
mainly include Sauber-Ferrari and Williams.
In addition, Bob Fernley, the deputy team principal of Force India has said after the Malaysian GP that they are looking forward to the Mugello test so as to reach where they would intend to be in the start of the season.
On the other hand, Di Resta said that they hope that they will improve their performance in the approaching races.
“After what Sauber did in Malaysia, it keeps them in our sights. If we now put performance on this car then we can get by them. We always knew maintaining sixth place this year was going to be difficult. But we'll keep on track, picking up the points we're
doing, and being realistic about it, if we can get results like the one in Bahrain then they are like wins to us as a midfield team. So we've got to be happy and hopeful the upgrade we're going to bolt on the car keeps us in this position going into Barcelona,”
said Di Resta.
