Julia Goerges; a look at her performance this season
 
Born on 2 November 1988 in the city of Bad Oldesloe, Julia Goerges is a professional tennis player from Germany. The twenty one year old German qualified for the main draw of the United States Open tennis tournament on the very
first occasion back in 2007 however lost her opening round match at the hands of Justine Henin in a total of two sets. The final match score was 6–0, 6–3. Julia reached her career high rankings of world number forty during the month of August this season.
She has so far captured a single WTA trophy and a single doubles crown in her professional life.
As far as her performance this season is concerned, the  professional tennis player from Germany started her year by playing at the 2010 ASB Classic tennis tournament where she lost in the opening round clash at the hands of Yanina
Wickmayer in a total of two sets. The final match score was 3-6, 5-7.
The twenty one year old Goerges next competed at the 2010 Medibank International Sydney Tennis Tournament as her second competition of the season. She once again couldn’t win the opening round in qualifing against  Jill Craybas
who got the better of her in a total of three sets. The final match score was 6-7(8), 6-1, 6-3.
At the 2010 Australian Open tennis competition, the Bad Oldesloe resident defeated Tamira Paszek in the opening round clash in a total of three sets. The final match score was 6–0, 3–6, 6–3. In the next round match, the German
met the current world number two, Caroline Wozniacki who brushed her aside in a total of two sets. The final match score was 3–6, 1–6.
The right hander next contested at the 2010 PTT Pattaya Open tennis championship, where she hammerd down Anna Gerasimou in her opening round clash. The final match score was 6-4, 6-4. In the second round, Julia however was ousted
by Sesil Karatantcheva in a two setter clash. The final match score was 2-6, 1-6.
At the WTA Premier Mandatory championship, the BNP Paribas Open tennis competition, the 1.80 meters tall Julia couldn’t surpass the second round as she was eliminated by Yanina Wickmayer in a total of two sets. The final match
score was 2-6, 4-6.
The world number forty one was dismissed in the second round of the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open in a two setter clash by Elena Vesnina. The final match score was 3-6, 4-6.
At the 2010 Family Circle Cup tennis competition, Julia was overpowered in her opening round clash by Bethanie Mattek-Sands in a total of three sets. The final match score was 6-7(1), 6-1, 6-4.
The twenty one year old Goerges next participated at the 2010 Internationaux de Strasbourg tennis competition where she did well to make her way into the quarter final round of the tournament. In the quarters, the German tennis
ace was finally dispatched off by her Russian tennis foe, Maria Sharapova in a total of two sets. The final match score was 6-7(2), 1-6.
At the French Open tennis tournament, Julia Goerges hammerd down Melinda Czink in the opening round match before falling down by the world number one tennis player, Serena Williams in a total of two sets. The final match score
was  1–6, 1–6.
The German tennis player then entered the All England Club to play at the grass court Grand Slam tournament in London. Julia however, couldn’t even win her first round clash as she was beaten by Marion Bartoli in a total of two
sets. The final match score was  4–6, 3–6.
At the 2010 Gastein Ladies, the Bad Oldesloe born tennis sensation did well to reach the final of the competition after brushing aside a couple of important players on her way. In the title battle, Julia faced Timea Bacsinszky
and easily got the better of her in a total of two sets. The final match score was 6–1, 6–4.
