Julia Sanders earns Women’s 200yard IM gold – High School State Championships
Jean Sanders of HOCK earned gold medal of the Women’s 200yard Individual Medley (IM) at the 2012 High School State Championships on Saturday, November 10.
Sanders enjoyed a comfortable lead over her challenger and sprinted her way towards the finishing end for the title. She gained a marginal lead in the start and with her notable pace, she kept on enhancing lead over her competitors and seized the title.
She remained in a wonderful lead over her toughest competitor and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 05.90 seconds.
Sanders was chased by Madison Munger of SUMN, who was 4.34 seconds slower from  her former finisher and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 10.24 seconds.
Munger was chased by Kelsey Crane of KLAHO, who was 2.62 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 12.86 seconds for third position.
Crane was chased by Lorraine Hack of TUM, who was nearly two body lengths slower and settled on the finishing wall for fourth position by posting a time of 2 minutes and 15.10 seconds.
Hack was chased by Ada Beale of SETON, who was 2.92 seconds apart and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 18.02 seconds for fifth position.
Subsequently, Beale was chased by Daniell Nelson of OLYM, who stayed 1.30 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and completed her race with the timing of 2 minutes and 19.32 seconds.
Nelson was trailed by Kelly Giffey of W.F, who tried hard to upset her preceding swimmers but failed to do so and stayed 0.17 seconds behind, clocking a time of 2 minutes and 19.49 seconds for seventh place.
Giffey was traced by Ashley Huynh of SUMN, who was exactly one second slower from her foregoing finisher and concluded her swim in eighth place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 20.49 seconds.
Furthermore, Sanders expressed happiness over her victory in the race and said that she would continue her hard work in future in order to excel at higher levels of sport.
