Julia Sanders seizes Women’s 100yard butterfly gold – High School State Championships
Julia Sanders of HOCK seized gold medal of the Women’s 100yard butterfly at the 2012 High School State Championships on Saturday, November 10.
Sanders stifled hopes of her opponents in the 100yard discipline as she went on a rampage from the start. With her invincible efforts and powerful strokes, she managed to outperform her closest rival over the finishing end for gold medal.
Sanders remained in a prominent lead over her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing wall for the title by posting an effort of 56.61 seconds.
The gold medallist was traced by Lorraine Hack of TUM, who was three and a half body length behind and reached the finishing wall for silver medal by posting a time of 59.25 seconds.
Hack was trailed by Madison Munger of SUMN, who was only 0.41 seconds apart and stepped on the victory stand for bronze medal by clocking a time of 59.66 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the event was obtained by Hailey Rankin of PROSS, who stayed 1.13 seconds apart and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 00.79 seconds.
Rankin was traced by Alexis Medelez of ZILLA, who was half a body length slower from her foregoing finisher and settled on the wall as fifth fastest swimmer. Medelez remained 0.45 seconds behind and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 01.24 seconds.
She was chased by Anne Froelich of ELLEN, who was 0.67 seconds away and touched the finishing blockade for sixth position by posting a time of 1 minute and 01.91 seconds.
Froelich was followed by Tala Hild of Rent, who remained 0.47 seconds behind and proved her eligibility for seventh spot of the event by completing her swim in a time of 1 minute and 02.38 seconds.
Similarly, Hild was traced by Kim Vincent of STEIL, who was 0.54 seconds behind and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 02.92 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Sanders was contented with her top finish in the event and said that she would try hard to continue the same in future.
