Juliana/Larissa vs. Talita/Maria 2-0 (18-12 and 18-8)
The top-seeded pair of Juliana and Larissa opened the gold-medal match on the right foot. They produced good jump-serves and formulized a killing plan for their compatriots. Juliana took a long run to serve the ball, while Larissa was very active over the
net. The two players quickly traded their places and jumped on every ball coming from the opponents’ side with lightning speed. The first run of the game graced Juliana/Larissa and provided them a competitive edge in the first set.
On the other side of the net, Maria and Talita were in good form. They backed up each other and tried to save points by dismissing Juliana/Larissa’s attack attempts. They formed good timing and grabbed the ball by nice digging and diving. However, Juliana
and Larissa continued with their effort and added more points in the score. Despite of good defence from Maria/Talita, they found rare gaps in the court and directed their spikes in the targeted areas.
The first-set game progressed with a narrow gap of point until the second technical timeout and suddenly Juliana/Larissa started hard-hitting. Maria had a hard time to run in the corners and dive for the ball. Juliana/Larissa used the 2 points’ lead and
scored consecutive points. They widened the difference of points and pulled off victory by hitting 18-12 on the scoreboard.

game-plan and weak areas of rival side.
