Juliane Schenk fails to stand against Carolina Marin in 2013 European Mixed Team Championships
Germany’s experienced shuttler Juliane Schenk looked completely off colour in Women’s Singles event of European Mixed Team Championships as she lost an important tie to Carolina Marin on February 14, 2013.
This encounter prolonged to 36 minutes before ending with decisive figures of 13-21 and 18-21. The Spanish campaigner displayed unbeatable craft on the court and sealed a splendid straight-set victory.
On the other hand, Juliane Schenk had to surrender despite of putting an honest effort in both segments of the showdown.
The battle heated up immediately in the beginning of first set as both contenders challenged each other in all departments of game.
They snapped at each other’s heels and remained close on the points table until the mid-game break.

Though, Juliane Schenk made every effort to counterbalance the situation but she failed to hit the mark. She knelt down after reading an overwhelming score of 13-21.
The following game was also full of disappointment for the German shuttler as she failed to end her bad patch and faced a woeful defeat.
In the beginning, Juliane employed interesting tactics and kept her competitor at the lower end but then couple of consecutive mistakes brought her down.
Carolina capitalised her opponent’s blunders and established a strong grip over game. She maintained that upper hand all the way to game point situation and swept the table with a significant margin.
At first she piled up a mountainous figure in third quarter of the set and then registered a winning total of 21-18.
Juliane Schenk’s defeat was the only point that Germany lost in this match and rest of the German shuttlers won their ties.
There were couple of mesmerising performances by talented players of both countries and this Group 2 match kept the audience intact until the final moments.
The local badminton lovers of Ramenskoe remained glued to their chairs until the concluding score of 4-1.
