Juliane Schenk proves her supremacy in Women’s Singles first round at Bitburger Open GP Gold
Juliane Schenk, one of the most aggressive and in-form shuttlers from Germany, put up spectacular show and proved her supremacy in the arena as she sent Slovenia’s Kaja Stankovic packing in Women’s Singles first round at Bitburger Open GP Gold 2012 in Germany,
on Wednesday, October 31.
The World Number Six Schenk, who was the top seed in Women’s Singles draw of the tournament, showed her elite class by playing dominating badminton in opening round and easily stamped her mark over Stankovic in a superb fashion.
German shuttler found a perfect start as she played with impressive confidence and remained successful in beating her lower ranked opponent in straight games with a smashing margin on score board in just 26 minutes.
In the meanwhile, Stankovic tried her best but failed to succeed in showing a strong resistance on court and eventually bowed down to her top seeded German challenger and lost the battle in straight sets with a huge margin.
Schenk did extremely well from the starting points of first set as she played with remarkable speed and grabbed the control of the game.
Schenk kept the tempo of rallies fast in the starting game and entertained local fans with her incredible skills.
Until the end of first half, the in-form Schenk achieved a strong position on score board by setting up a huge gap.
After the mid-game interval, the higher ranked local shuttler stayed focused in the arena and easily managed to stay in lead without facing any trouble from her rival.
The positive and attacking play of Schenk helped her to bag the first game with a staggering margin of 21-14.
Slovenian shuttler was again in problem in the second game when she faced a cruel treatment from her German challenger who was fast and flawless on court.
Schenk executed powerful smashes accurately in right areas and remained ahead all the way until the end of first half.
After the break, the lofty Schenk continued her comfortable run and easily bagged the second set by a stunning 21-11 score on the board.
The impressive Schenk registered a comprehensive victory over Stankovic in straight games with a lopsided score of 21-14 and 21-11.
