Julien Pierre Goyetche wins Men’s 50m freestyle gold medal - 7th Open Luxembourg Nationals
Julien Pierre Goyetche of Selection Languedoc Roussillon displayed a wonderful performance to win the gold medal of the Men’s 50m freestyle on the second day of the 7th Open Luxembourg Nationals. The Luxembourg Nationals is a two-day long course
national championship, which provides a chance to swimmers to defend their national titles.
The 17-year-old Goyetche demonstrated a wonderful swim on the opening event of the championship, where he occupied the gold medal of the 50m freestyle swim in a fabulous time of 24.26 seconds. He was 0.15 seconds away from his following swimmer and team-member,
Christopher Bellino, who emerged on the finishing wall as the second fastest swimmer, by ending his swim in a time of 24.41 seconds.
The arena witnessed the gruelling swims of Julien Henx and Jean Daniel, who displayed commendable efforts in the one-lap swim for the bronze medal. Henx of CNDu and Daniel of Selection Regional Auvergne failed to escape each other for the third position
and touched the wall in a same time of 24.84 seconds.
Moments later, Goyetche’s team-member, Amaud Rondan followed them on the finishing wall for the fifth fastest spot, as he completed his swim in a time of 24.94 seconds. He was 0.03 seconds ahead form his following swimmer, Robin Sasse of Selection Regional
Auvergne, who transpired as the sixth fastest swimmer by posting a time of 24.97 seconds.
In the meantime, Jean-Francois Schneiders of Cercle de Natation Wiltz appeared on the finishing wall for the seventh position, by clocking in a nice time of 24.99 seconds. The eighth fastest spot in the respective meet was secured by Thibault Assini, who
stayed only 0.17 seconds behind Schneiders and concluded his swim in a fascinating time of 25.16 seconds.
Furthermore, the arena was impressed with the scintillating swims of their national swimmers, who cruised their way on the finishing wall in a single lap race. The championship concluded after the completion of the final session, while the winners were awarded
medals and accolades for their striking swims in the event.
