Julien Zhu seizes Women’s 200m butterfly gold – 2013 CeraVe Invitational
Julien Zhu of SCAR-NJ seized gold medal of the Women’s 200m butterfly in 13-14 year olds category on second day of the 2013 CeraVe Invitational at Berkeley Aquatic Club, on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
The 14-year-old devastated hopes of her opponents in the distant butterfly discipline as she sprinted her way towards the finishing end for gold medal.
With her commendable pace, she remained in a comfortable lead over her challengers and stepped on the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 24.55 seconds.
The champion was followed by Giorgia Piantanida of LIAC-MR, who stayed almost 7.50 seconds slower and stepped on the finishing wall for silver medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 32.08 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Ann Mulvenna of SCAR-NJ, who was 0.54 seconds slower from her former finisher and stepped on the wall for bronze medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 32.62 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Cat Alabanza of SCAR-NJ, who stayed 0.34 seconds away from her preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 32.96 seconds.
Alabanza was followed by Tatum Lawson of BAC-NJ, who was nearly two body lengths behind and emerged on the finishing end for fifth position by posting a time of 2 minutes and 34.73 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Catherina Erwin of Bluefish-NE, who was 1.12 seconds apart and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 35.85 seconds.
Erwin was followed by Erica Wirth of BAC-NJ, who was considerably slower from her foregoing finisher and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 40.12 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was secured by Amy Duren of SCAR-NJ, who was almost four seconds apart and posted a time of 2 minutes and 43.81 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received massive admiration from the crowd for their undisputed efforts at the prize ceremony of the event. Furthermore, the champion came to an end at the victory ceremony of the tournament after the race.
