Julio Arca wants new Middlesbrough contract
Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca says he wants a new contract at the club with his current deal due to expire in the summer.
Arca joined the club back in 2006 and has experienced both good and bad times with the club. The 29-year-old has admitted a slight worry over his future as talks have stalled since Tony Mowbray became
the new manager of the club.
"I'm out of contract at the end of the season, but with the massive changes there have been, the last thing they want
to do is talk about contracts," Arca said on the Sky Sports website.
Arca has placed complete responsibility and emphasis on the club to start proceedings. He's made no secret of his desire to stay with Middlesbrough as he's now settled in the
area and used to the English way of life.
It would be a very naive move on the part of the club if they did not get Arca tied down under a new deal. He is one of the better players in the club who will aid any push for
promotion to the Premier League.
"I'll see what happens with this manager and how things improve. If they come to me, we can sit down and talk.
Would I like to sign a new deal? Yes, obviously. When things start to get better and you're in a team that has a chance to get promoted, and if that happens, yes, you
want to stay," he added.
Arca still feels he has a lot to offer to the club and believes he has the ability to compete in the Premier League. However, regardless of what happens over the next few
months, he seems determined to maintain a good relationship with the club one way or another.
Betting advice
Arca is the most creative player in Middlesbrough. He is vital to the way the team attacks and he is vital to any future success. Bet on him to score on any game and back
him to have a new deal before the end of the season comes.
