Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. accuses Rubio in reply to the latter’s accusations – Boxing news
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who was accused for being in the foul circle since he did not go for the drug test after the fight, has responded to the allegations.
According to Chavez and Fernando Beltran, Julio’s promoter, neither of the fighters went for the drug and that Chavez was not even asked for it after the bout on Saturday night in San Antonio.
Fernando Beltran, in reply to the accusations, said, “We are very respectful of the regulations of the sanctioning bodies and commissions and for protection of the fighter, but in the case of Chávez Jr., he didn’t take the doping test because no one from
the Texas Athletic Commission asked. At the end of the fight Julio was in his dressing room for 40 minutes after his overwhelming victory getting ready for the post-fight press conference, and after meeting with the media he went to his hotel where he did
several interviews in his room with journalists and nobody remembered or asked the anti-doping test.”
He further added that not a single person from the WBC or the Texas Commission came forward to ask either of the fighters for the drug test, and so none of them went for it. While his promoter kept his cool, Chavez could not, he exploded saying that why
only should he go for the drug test and why not Rubio and if that is demanded of him (Chavez) then it should be imposed on Rubio too.
He further said that all the allegations by Rubio and his camp is nothing but just a way of hiding his abashed existence behind controversies and the fact that he was brutally defeated.
Beltran then went the extra mile saying that Rubio’s camp should be more worried about Rubio’s health rather than such controversies. He added that the way Chavez had beaten Rubio was brutal and that they should get him thoroughly checked up to find out
any internal or external injuries and  that Julio had delivered manifold power shots on the weak challenger who couldn’t find anymore but took all the punishment just for the sake of prolonging the fight.
When asked about Chavez’s upcoming fight, his promoter remarked that there are possibilities of Chavez clashing with Antonio Margarito, Andy Lee or Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez by the middle of the year.
